The Ironton Child Welfare Club has announced the 2016-2017 Eddy Test participants.
The Club’s Eddy Test will be given to the top 25 percent of sixth grade students from Ironton Middle School and St. Lawrence Catholic School based on state or national testing on March 15.
This all-day test covers reading vocabulary, reading comprehension, math problem solving, math computation, language, spelling, science, and social studies. Lunch will be served by the Child Welfare Club.
The top one third of the participants, along with their parents, will be honored as Eddy Winners at a banquet hosted by the Child Welfare Club on May 11.
The Child Welfare Club established this program 56 years ago.  It is the club’s longest continuous project.  The Eddy Award was established to identify students who attain superior academic achievement in the sixth grade.  This year, the following 32 students will be taking the test:
