Chamberlin ‘handles’ her duties for Ironton Ladies’ Nine Hole League

PINE GROVE — Connie Chamberlin handled the weekly duties including the golfing events.
She also handled the Ladies Yearly Classic Tournament.
Chamberlin not only served as the hostess for last week’s Ironton Ladies Nine Hole Golf Association Tuesday outing, she was the winner of the Ladies’ Classic.
The second flight winner was Sharon Fox while the third and first flight winner was Pat Lambert.
Last Tuesday, Chamberlin set up the golfing events and announced the winners at lunch that including two wins by Pat Lambert and one each by Rose Auble and Joyce Lewis.
Two weeks ago the group met with Betty Fraley serving as the hostess.
Margaret Donley racked up three wins while Wanda Spears and Pat Riggs won the Handicap Tournament.
Three weeks ago Joyce Lewis was the hostess and announced the winners: Doris Carmon won two events with Donley and Lewis each winning an event.
Next week’s hostess will be Pat Riggs.
The club meets each Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. for a brief business meeting and breakfast treats. After golfing at 10 a.m., the group gathers for lunch and winners are announced.
The club is always accepting new members and women do not have to be a member of the Ironton Country Club to join the Ladies Nine Hole League.
Also, Friday evenings are Couples’ Night with a 5:30 p.m. starting time for nine holes of golf. There will be appetizers following play.
