PROCTORVILLE — The Waverly Tigers remained unbeaten with a 46-26 win over the Fairland Dragons on Friday.
Ty Wilcoxon had a big game for the Dragons with nine catches that amassed 160 yards including a 77-yard touchdown reception. He also had a two-point conversion reception.
Fairland quarterback Joel Lambiotte was 24-of-41 for 338 yards and an interception.
Keedrick Cunningham had eight catches for 116 yards and a score.
Fairland (1-3) scored on its first possession of the game as Wilcoxon had five catches for 55 yards including a 20-yarder to set up a 1-yard touchdown run by Chase Fisher.
Waverly (4-0) tied the game on a 11-yard pass reception by Johnny Thompson and went up 20-6 at the half as Drew Kritzwiser had scoring runs of 6 and 3 yards.
The Tigers went up 26-6 on a 37-yard pass from Clayton Howell to Kayne Jordan. Howell was 21-of-25 passing for 322 yards.
Wilcoxon caught a short slant pass and turned it into a 77-yard scoring play on the Dragons’ first play of the second half and it was 26-12.
Waverly answered with Easton Wolf’s 12-yard TD catch but the Dragons came back with a 4-yard scoring strike to Zeke Ramey.
Waverly used a 54-yard touchdown pass to Cobe Marquez and it was 38-18.
The Tigers put the game away early in the fourth quarter on Wolf’s 45-yard scoring reception and Thompson’s conversion run.
The Dragons added a late score as Cunningham caught a 35-yard touchdown pass.
Fairland hosts Rock Hill this Friday.
