ILL board elections
to be held Sept. 24
The Ironton National Little League will conduct its annual general membership meeting at 5 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 24, at the Little League complex.
The purpose of the meeting is the election of the board of directors for the 2018 year.
Only those members in good standing with the league will be eligible to vote.
Any member in good standing interested in a nomination for election to the board of directors must contact a board member no later than Thursday, Sept. 21.

The Special Needs Youth Sportsmen, Inc., will conduct a Field Day and modified European pheasant hunt for special needs youth up to age 21 on Saturday, Oct. 21, in Lawrence County.

Basketball officials’
training class offered
The Ironton and Portsmouth chapters of the Southeastern Ohio Basketball Officials Association are offering a class for beginning officials.
The class is a requirement for all new officials who wish to referee Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) sanctioned games at the junior high and high school level.
Cost for the class is $65. The class begins on Wednesday, Oct. 4, and will last approximately eight weeks. There will be 25 classroom hours and numerous scrimmages to work.
The class will be held at Green High School in Franklin Furnace. To register, go to the OHSAA website www.ohsaa.org.
