PORTSMOUTH — One look at the all-conference team told the story.
The Fairland Dragons had three of the top 11 golfers as they won the Ohio Valley Conference golf tournament on Thursday at the Portsmouth Elks Country Club.
The Dragons posted a 356 team score as Reece Belville shot an 84, Clayton Thomas 86 and Hannah Shrout 90.
Mason Manns had a 96, Mikhail Auxier 100 and Connor Franklin 102 to round out Fairland’s scoring.
Shrout’s total earned her the girls’ medalist honors.
Rock Hill Redmen senior Logan Reed shot a 73 to claim the boys’ medalist honors.
Gallipolis — the two-time defending champions — was second with a 362 score. Coal Grove and Rock Hill tied for third with 374.
Chesapeake followed with a 378, Portsmouth had a 416, Ironton 462 and South Point 478.
The rest of the All-OVC team was comprised of Kaden Thomas of Gallipolis with an 81, Trevor Deere of Coal Grove with an 82, Portsmouth’s William Sturgill with an 83, Chesapeake’s Jacob Lemley had an 84, Cooper Davis of Gallipolis shot a 93 and Brandon Blair of Chesapeake carded a 94.
