WILLOW WOOD — Step one is complete. Now to step two.
The Symmes Valley Lady Vikings won their Division IV sectional tournament volleyball opener in straight sets over the Belpre Lady Eagles on Monday, 25-14, 25-17, 25-17.
Now the Lady Vikings will visit Eastern Meigs at 6 p.m. on Thursday in the sectional finals.
Kaitlyn Crabtree and Savannah Webb led the scoring with 14 points and seven aces each. Morgan Jenkins and Rachael Hayes got five points apiece. Jenkins had three aces and Hayes two.
Crabtree also had 10 kills with Kinley Patterson getting five.
Jenkins had 10 assists and Ericca Ross nine.
Defensively, Crabtree and Ross racked up 13 digs each while Patterson had 11 and Jenkins 10.
Symmes Valley will play a make-up game at Green on Wednesday. Jayvee game starts at 5:30 p.m.
