Gallipolis wins OVC wrestling tournament; Ironton second

PROCTORVILLE — Eight helped make it three.
Gallipolis had eight individual champions as the Blue Devils made it three straight in the Ohio Valley Conference wrestling tournament on Saturday.
The Ironton Fighting Tigers were second in their first season in the league tournament followed by the Fairland Dragons and Chesapeake Panthers.
Fairland had two champions as Blaine Cremeans won the 160-pound class and Mason Cox won at 285.
Runners-up for the Dragons were Rhiyder Slone (106), Jacob Sudlow (126) and Zane Tucker (220).
Ironton’s Rocky White won the 220-pound division with Todd Davidson (138), Ryan McClain (170), Matt Davis (182) and Owen Ison (195) all finished second.
The Chesapeake Panthers Trevon Wascavage was a champion at 152 pounds and Dillon Lunsford for 170.
Runners-up for the Panthers were Bryson Haynes (120) and Brady Wilson (145).
