BURLINGTON — A fire that destroyed a single family home on Township Road 1019, in Burlington, has been ruled arson.
“At this time, specific details about the investigation will not be released,” Shane Cartmill, public information officer for the State Fire Marshal, said in an email. “However, all accidental causes have been eliminated and investigators were able to determine the fire intentionally set based on evidence found at the scene.”
The fire was reported by a neighbor at 1:18 a.m. Thursday. There were no injuries reported and no one was home at the time.
A Blue Ribbon Arson Reward sign has been posted at the property. A reward of up to $5,000 is being offered to anyone with information leading to the identification of the person or persons responsible for the fire. Citizens should call 800-589-2728 with any information.

Is that cat the same cat that used to run the Shake Shoppe in Ironton? If it is I still say the cat did it.

I asked this on the LAST article where they said "no criminal" intent, or words to that affect. How could it not be criminal? It wasn't an accident... so it was on purpose. Is it not criminal to burn down homes? Endanger people?

I think your talking about the fire that happened last week in Burlington, it was an apartment house. This fire happened just this past Thursday morning and it was about 1/2 mile from the apartment fire. The apartment fire was not ruled as an arson but the house fire was.

And once again - the previous article said other accidental causes had NOT been ruled out.
