Men plead guilty to illegal dumping, open burning

Two men accused of illegal dumping and / or open burning pleaded guilty last week in Lawrence County Common Pleas Court.
Richard Cole, 37, of 647 County Road 14, Pedro, and Bryan K. Anderson, 27, of Ashland, Ky., were each sentenced to six months in jail but that sentence was suspended and each man was placed on two years community controlled sanctions under intensive supervised probation (CCS) and each ordered to pay a $500 fine.
Also Wednesday, Shawn L. Crabtree, 33, of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., pleaded guilty to one count of failure to comply with the order and signal of a police officer. Judge D. Scott Bowling sentenced him to six months in jail.
Eugene Garred, 46, of 109 Township Road 1316, South Point, pleaded guilty to driving while intoxicated, resisting arrest and failure to comply with the order and signal of a police officer, all misdemeanors.
Judge Charles Cooper sentenced Garred to six months in jail but suspended that sentence and placed him on two years CCS. Cooper also ordered Garred to serve a total of 10 days in jail and pay a $750 fine.
John T. Bare, age and address unavailable, pleaded guilty to one count of burglary.
Bowling sentenced him to seven years in prison and ordered him to pay $160 in restitution.
David S. Nance, age and address unavailable, pleaded guilty to one count of criminal non-support.
Bowling sentenced him to 11 months in prison. Authorities said Nance was in arrears more than $20,000. In handing down his sentence, Bowling noted Nance had made no effort to correct his arrearage.

It's about TIME, This county of ours has to be the filthiest county in the tri-state area by far, And the state of ohio as well, It's embarrassing to have visitors from out of state to see this county. Officials need to drive the county and see all the trash that people dumps into the creeks, and its been there for years, and its getting worst everyday, The people with garbage, cars, and appliances in their front yards is sickening to see. The officials need to team up with the sheriff's and the EPA to start enforcing the law and hit'em where it hurts, the wallet, We the people of lawrence county challange the official to clean up our county. PASS ON THIS MESSAGE.
