BCPL to have booth at Summer Motion

Published Wednesday, July 1, 2009

ASHLAND, Ky. — Boyd County Public Library District will be closed Independence Day, but staff members will be manning a booth at Summer Motion in Central Park.

Children are encouraged to stop by the library’s booth on Saturday and/or Sunday and color on huge coloring sheets, which will be displayed in the library throughout the rest of July in conjunction with the “Be Creative” Summer Reading program.

The BCPL Friends will be holding a huge Summer Book Sale on Saturday, July 4, in the Library Commons area adjacent to the Main Branch. The sale includes primarily fiction, with a large amount of romance and children’s books. There are also many art books, as well as music and movies. Most items will sell for $1 or less.

The Friends book sale is from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday. In case of rain, the sale will take place inside the Main Branch (the Library is closed that day for all other purposes). The materials that remain after Saturday’s sale will be sold during “Second Look Sunday” when the Main Branch is open on July 5, from 1 to 5 p.m.

All branches will reopen Monday, July 6.
