Published Monday, June 15, 2009
RUSSELL, Ky. — Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital’s (OLBH) Healthy Community Services program will host the hospital’s second Senior Crime College, Wednesday from at 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at OLBH’s Bellefonte Pavilion (2000 Ashland Drive) on the OLBH campus. The event is $10 with scholarships available.
Senior Crime College is a seminar focusing on crimes that affect seniors and how to avoid becoming a victim of such crimes. Presentations will include:
• Greenup County Sheriff’s Office
• Protecting Your Money
• Avoiding Abusive Situations
• Kentucky Office of Insurance
• Kentucky State Office of the Attorney General
“While we’re fortunate to live in a relatively safe area, crime can and does happen anywhere,” Mary Ellen Conley, OLBH Senior Services coordinator, said. “Crime is a large concern of the senior population, which is why Senior Crime College is an important informational seminar that will help seniors learn how to best protect themselves and to keep from becoming a crime victim.”
Lunch is provided by Chick-fil-a.
Various community and service organizations will host informational booths.
Attendees must RSVP by June 15. To register, contact the OLBH CareLine at (606) 833-CARE (2273).
