Theft, drugs, probation violations top Lawrence County court docket

Theft, probation violation and drugs were among the alleged crimes discussed Wednesday in Lawrence County Common Pleas Court.
Troy D. Earles, 37, who is an inmate at the Pickaway Correctional Institute, pleaded guilty to one count of theft.
“He was doing work for the victim and took tools,” Assistant Lawrence County Prosecutor Mack Anderson explained. The incident took place before Earles was sent to prison for another, unrelated crime.
Judge D. Scott Bowling sentenced him to nine months in prison.
Rita Caskey, 43, of Catlettsburg, Ky., admitted she violated her probation by not reporting to her probation officer and not making payments on her $11,100 restitution. Bowling sentenced her to 14 months in prison.
Leslie Wilks, 36, of 64 Private Drive 955, South Point, was arraigned on two counts of aggravated possession of drugs. He pleaded not guilty through his attorney, David Reid Dillon. Bowling set bond a $25,000 own recognizance (OR) bond and scheduled a Dec. 16 pretrial conference.
Amber Rawlins, 24, of 2540 S. Fifth St., Ironton, was arraigned on burglary and theft charges. She pleaded not guilty through her attorney, Samantha Fields. Bowling set a $25,000 OR bond and scheduled a Dec. 16 pretrial conference.
James Ison, 23, of 171 County Road 10C, Pedro, pleaded guilty to one count of breaking and entering and two counts of theft. Bowling sentenced him to seven months in prison.

THE JAILS ARE ALREADY OVERCROWDED-WHAT IS LAWRENCE CO. GOING TO DO WITH THESE THUGS-I SAY TAKE THEM DOWN ON THE RIVER FRONT AND LET THEM CLEAN THAT PIG PEN UP!!!-I WENT THERE THE OTHER NIGHT TO SIT AND WATCH THE RIVER AND HAVE A COLD BEER BUT THE SMELL WAS SO BAD IT MADE ME WANT TO PUKE-WHERE IS A PERSON SUPPOSE TO GO AND RELAX?I THINK NEXT TIME I WILL JUST GO TO FROGTOWN AND PUT UP WITH ALL THE BIKER RIFF-RAFF.

Comments arn't even nessesary about an article like this. The jails are reserved for the most serious offenders & wer just cant lock up everyone thats convicted of a crime.
