Road work to begin in Ashland area

Published Saturday, November 14, 2009

ASHLAND, Ky. — Paving operations on Winchester Avenue (U.S. 23) in Ashland and on U.S. 60 near Summit will impact traffic along the Boyd County, Ky., routes next week.

Resurfacing on northbound U.S. 23 in Ashland will take place from 12th Street to Seventh Street downtown beginning about 7 a.m. Monday, weather permitting.

One lane will be closed during construction, which is expected to last until about 5 p.m. Road work will affect local street traffic and parking at times.

On U.S. 60 at Summit, road work will take place near the KY 716 intersection Monday afternoon and Tuesday.

Construction schedules are dependent upon weather conditions. During work hours, motorists should “Drive Smart” in work zones.
