ASHLAND, Ky. — Boyd County Public Library has started two new book clubs for elementary and middle school children.

This club is designed for students in fourth through sixth grades.

At the Summit Branch, 1016 Summit Road, there is a new Middle School Book Club, for youth in grades six through eight, that meets on the second Wednesday at 3:30 p.m.

The 21st Century Community Learning Center at Boyd County Middle School is a partner in this project.

All local children from any school are welcome at either club.

The Tween Club (Main) will discuss the following books: Nov. 3, Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIMH by Robert C. O’Brien; and Dec. 1, The Last Holiday Concert by Andrew Clements.

The discussion schedule for the Middle School Club (Summit) is: Oct. 14, Framed by Frank Cottrell Boyce; Nov. 4 (moved up one week due to Veteran’s Day), Among the Hidden by Margaret Peterson Haddix; and Dec. 9, The Dark is Rising by Susan Cooper.
