Lawrence County’s Most Wanted
Probation violator caught in Proctorville
Published Monday, October 19, 2009
Another probation violator sought by the Lawrence County Adult Probation Agency has been apprehended — and he apparently knew authorities were looking for him.
Brandon Stewart, 23, was apprehended Friday night at a residence in Proctorville, Chief Probation Officer Carl Bowen II said.
“He was hiding, now get this, behind a lazy susan. He had crawled through a hole under the sink (between kitchen cabinets) there was a little opening, and he had wedged himself in there behind this lazy susan,” Bowen said. “I have never seen anyone hide so well in my life.”
Bowen said on the kitchen table near where Stewart was hiding was a copy of The Tribune Monday edition with the Most Wanted series on the front page.
“I said ‘Dude, you knew we were looking for you,’ and he said ‘yeah, I knew,’” Bowen recalled.
Stewart was on probation for an earlier conviction on burglary and theft of drugs charges.
As is the case with most probation violators, he was not reporting to his probation officer as required.
The Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office and Proctorville Police aided the A.P.A. in the arrest. Bowen thanked them for their assistance in finding Stewart and helping apprehend him.
Four more names are being added to the probation agency’s most wanted probation violators today. They are:
Delores McCoy, 36, was last known to be living in Ashland, Ky. She was placed on probation for a falsification conviction. She has brown hair and eyes, is 5 feet 5 ½ inches tall, 175 pounds.
John Moore, 26, was last known to be living in South Point. He was on probation for conviction on burglary, theft and receiving stolen property. He has brown hair and eyes, is 5 feet 11 inches tall, 170 pounds.
James Willis, 23, was last known to be living in Ironton. He was on probation for an earlier breaking and entering conviction. He has brown hair and eyes, is 6 feet 7 inches tall, 278 pounds.
Misty Shavor, 29, was last known to be living in Kitts Hill. She was on probation after she was convicted of theft, domestic violence and burglary charges. She has brown hair and eyes, is 5 feet 2 inches tall, 135 pounds.
The Adult Probation Agency, a part of Lawrence County Common Pleas Court, is seeking information on the whereabouts of these offenders.
Those with information about these people may call the Adult Probation Agency at (740) 533-4380 or (740) 533-4423.

I can care less about what color these criminals are. I want to know how Wilis can be out on probation for doing basically the very same thing that the 4 B & E criminals that are getting 10 years a piece for. In the case of Wilis and his other two buddies, they actually were breaking in on people, some elderly, and robbing them of their medications and valuables while they were asleep. One victim had to have family move in with her because of the fear inflicted upon her. How are thugs like Wilis even able to get probation. These people rob their victims of far more than their things. It's time for the prosecuting attorney(s) and the judge(s) to make these criminals pay for what they've done to their victims. The first time, not the next!

I don't know James Willis, BUT at 6'7" and 278 pounds, just how hard is IPD looking? That boy's gonna need a lot of groceries or fast food! Funny our fearless, uniformed Fosdicks haven't spotted him already at Wendy's, Taco Bell, McDonalds, or Rax, since that's where they spend a lot of their time. RUNutz?
