PORTSMOUTH — Abby Nance will trade four sports for one, and that’s just fine with her.
A four-sport standout for the Coal Grove Lady Hornets, Nance has signed a letter of intent to continue her softball career at Shawnee State University.
Nance is the ninth member of the Bears’ 2010 recruiting class of coach Ralph Cole.
Nance was a four-year letter winner in softball at Coal Grove where she was All-Ohio Valley Conference four times and all-district on three occasions.
Besides softball, Nance lettered in volleyball and track as well as the starting point guard on the basketball team.
She also lettered four years in basketball and volleyball and twice in track.
Nance will studying Nursing while attending Shawnee State University.
Abby is the daughter of Amy and Mike Nance of Coal Grove.
