OSU ticket raffle

The Ironton High School sophomore class is conducting a raffle for two tickets to the Illinois at Ohio State football game scheduled for Sept. 26.

Ticket donations are $5 and are available from any sophomore class member or by contacting class advisor Linda Gagai at (740) 533-2137 or (740) 646-5064.

RH golf scramble

The Rock Hill Redwomen basketball team will sponsor a benefit golf scramble on Saturday at Oaks Golf Club.

The 8 a.m. shotgun start tournament will award prizes for first and second place along with door prizes. Lunch will be provided.

Officiating class

The Ironton Chapter of Basketball Officials in conjunction with the Ohio High School Athletic Association will conduct a certified basketball officiating class beginning Tuesday, Oct. 6, at Chesapeake Middle School.

Fee is $125 and due at the first class. Fee includes materials, testin and, certification fees.

The class will consists of lectures from various veteran officials, rule interpretation, mechanics and actual game experience. Once the class is completed and testing verified, participants willbe an Ohio licensed basketball official.

Big Green party

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — The Big Green Scholarship Foundation will conduct a pregame tailgate party from 5-to-7 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 19, prior to the Marshall football game against Bowling Green.

The event is open to all Big Green members and their guests. The event will be on the Third Avenue side of the Cam Henderson Center.

Fee is $25 for adults adn $15 for children. Cost includes food, drinks compliments of Pepsi, a tour of the new basketball locker rooms as well as a complimentary game ticket.

Reservations must be made in advance by call (304) 696-4661. Deadline is Wednesday.

Oaks golf scramble

OAK HILL — The Oak Hill High School boys basketball team will be holding its third annual golf scramble at 8:30 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 20 at Franklin Valley Golf Club.

The cost is $200 for a four-man team, which includes green fees, cart, food and refreshments.
