Ironton woman arrested in drug sweep pleads guilty

An Ironton woman arrested in an illegal drug crackdown last fall was among those making guilty pleas Wednesday in Lawrence County Common Pleas Court.
Gladys E. Lewis, 64, of 617 Vernon St., Ironton, pleaded guilty to three counts of aggravated trafficking in drugs. Judge D. Scott Bowling sentenced her to four years in prison and fined her $15,000. Lewis must also surrender her driver’s license for a year.
Lewis was one of more than 20 people arrested in an October 2009 roundup.
Also Wednesday, James R. Mayhone, 27, of 557 County Road 1A, Ironton, admitted he violated his probation by failing to make required child support payments.
“The defendant pleaded guilty to three counts (of criminal non support) in March 2008,” Assistant Lawrence County Prosecutor Brigham Anderson said. “He began making payments but then he stopped and has not made a payment since January (2009).”
Anderson said at one time, Mayhone was more than $15,000 in arrears on child support for three children.
Judge Charles Cooper ordered Mayhone to successfully complete a rehabilitation program at a community based correctional facility and then continue with probation and return to making his scheduled child support payments.
In another matter, David C. Christian, 33, of 61 Township Road 84W, Willow Wood, admitted he violated his probation by failing to report to his probation officer for six months.
Anderson told Bowling this was actually the second time Christian violated his probation. Christian had earlier tested positive for drug use and was ordered to undergo drug treatment. He was released from that facility because he would not comply with the rules.
Bowling sentenced Christian to 10 months in prison.
Kyle A. Davidson, 36, of 1173 County Road 1 South Point, pleaded guilty to charges of breaking and entering, theft and aggravated robbery. Cooper sentenced him to a total of seven years in prison and ordered him to pay $240 in restitution.
Amber Rawlins, 24, of 2540 S. Fifth St., Ironton, pleaded guilty to theft and burglary charges. Bowling sentenced her to four years in prison.

So when she gets out she will have to pay the state to get them back. $$$ Reinstatement fees. testing fees, higher insurance rates.

Gladys is only 64 and young people do make mistakes...LOL
