Clara Belle Smith

June 1, 1923-Feb. 27, 2002

Clara Belle Smith, 78, of Ironton died Wednesday at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital in Russell, Ky.

The Ironton native was born June 1, 1923, the daughter of the late Archie and Cora Lewis Smith.

She was a graduate of Hanging Rock High School and was formerly employed at Tipton’s Bakery and Henrites as a piece worker for 20 years. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church of Ironton.

She also was preceded in death by one brother, William Smith; two sisters, Mary Francis "Sis" Smith and Nettie Bell; and a special friend, Dovel Southers.

Survivors include five sisters, Margaret Skaggs of Marion, Virginia Cornette of South Point, Freda Fliehman of Worthington, Ruth Sharp of Oak Hill and Barbara Smith of Ironton.

Graveside service will be 1 p.m. Friday at Woodland Cemetery, with the Rev. Ted Swartzwelder officiating. There will be no visitation. Phillips Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Reba June Campbell, 78, of Huntington died Thursday at St. Mary’s Hospital. Arrangements are pending at Hall Funeral Home.

 

Mable Biederman

RUSSELL, Ky. – Mable Ann Biederman, 76, of Russell died Wednesday at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital. Funeral will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Advance Memorial United Methodist Church of Flatwoods. Burial will be in Bellefonte Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. Friday at Carman Funeral Home in Flatwoods. Memorials may be sent to Advance Memorial United Methodist Church Building Fund, 1007 Bellefonte Road, Flatwoods, Ky. 41139.
