REEDSVILLE – The Symmes Valley Vikings rushed for 358 yards as they pounded the Eastern Meigs Eagles 36-0 Friday in a non-league game.

Senior fullback Adam Niece had 16 of the Vikings 53 carries for 90 yards to lead the ground game. Noah Henson got 87 yards on 11 rushed, Brad Carpenter added 83 on 10 attempts, and Jared Leffingwell chipped in 38 yards on eight attempts.

Symmes Valley’s defense limited Eastern to just 155 total yards including 136 rushing and only 19 passing.

Eastern punted twice for a 32.0 average while the Vikings dod not had to punt.

 

Batavia 32, Green 0

BATAVIA – Senior fullback Brandon Faubion rushed for three touchdowns to lead the Batavia Bulldogs to a 32-0 shutout of the Green Bobcats.

Chris Kent completed 12-of-16 passes for 206 yards and two touchdowns.

Green, 0-2, was limited 11 yards total offense.

 

Wheelersburg 27, Martins Ferry 6

WHEELERSBURG – Luke Emnett rushed for 193 yards and two touchdowns as the Wheelersburg Pirates beat the Martins Ferry Purple Riders 27-6 Friday night.

Jason Schmidt had a 68-yard touchdown run and quarterback Andy Gill ran 20 yards for a score.

The Riders Jay Wallace, heavily recruited by West Virginia, had 147 yards rushing and a touchdown.

Wheelersburg, 2-0, hosts Paint Valley next Friday. Martins Ferry is now 1-1.
