The landslide prevention project on U.S. 52 near the bridges going to and from Ashland, Ky., is nearing completion after almost one year of work. Ohio Department of Transportation contractors are scheduled to begin paving in the westbound lane of U.S. 52 today. A barrier to prevent slippage of rocks into the roadway will be built after that, and the lane restrictions on the highway will be lifted sometime next week.
