Windsor Township volunteer firefighters arrived on the scene of the mobile home fire at about 8 p.m. Thursday, but it was already too late to do anything, said Mark Johnson, assistant chief.

"It was about 20 to 25 minutes before anyone saw the fire," Johnson said. "The road it was on doesn’t get a whole lot of traffic. And where it was raining and foggy, you couldn’t even see it until you got on it. Usually if it’s pretty or not foggy or raining, you can see a glow."

The doublewide mobile home, owned by the Turner family and located at 4 Bush Run off of Wolf Creek Road, was a total loss, Johnson added.

There was no one home at the time of the fire.

"By the time we got there all we could do is just spray the hot spots," Johnson said. "Nothing else was in danger. There was a garage, but it was a pretty good distance from the house."

The cause of the fire is still under investigation. Fire officials had not spoken with the family as of this morning.

Proctorville Volunteer Fire Department assisted on the call, Johnson said.
