American Electric Power line mechanics Kevin Ross and Brent Muncy work to restore power to more than 1,400 Ironton and Coal Grove AEP customers after winds that reached speeds of up to 52 mph Monday afternoon knocked two power lines together, resulting in a 90-minute blackout in south Ironton and parts of the village.

American Electric Power line mechanics Kevin Ross and Brent Muncy work to restore power to more than 1,400 Ironton and Coal Grove AEP customers after winds that reached speeds of up to 52 mph Monday afternoon knocked two power lines together, resulting in a 90-minute blackout in south Ironton and parts of the village. About 130 north Ironton customers also went without electricity Monday after winds felled a tree that landed on power lines.
