After losing by 38 points at home, the Lady Vikings took the Beaver Eastern Lady Eagles to overtime before losing 66-57 Thursday in a Southern Ohio Conference game.

After losing by 38 points at home, the Lady Vikings took the Beaver Eastern Lady Eagles to overtime before losing 66-57 Thursday in a Southern Ohio Conference game.

"We outplayed them most of the game," Vikings coach Rob Bess said. "We just didn’t hit any shots (in overtime)."

Eastern outscored the Vikes 9-0 in overtime to escape with the win.

Holly Wilson scored 19 points and hauled down 11 rebounds to lead Symmes Valley. Keren Bell got 12 points and seven rebounds, Jessica Myers grabbed 10 rebounds, and Renee Donahoe had 10 points and three assists.

Wilson scored 10 points the first quarter as Symmes Valley took a 13-8 lead.

Eastern rallied to tie the game 27-27 at the half, but the Lady Vikings went back ahead 38-35 after three quarters.

Wilson got 5 points and Symmes Valley was 5-of-8 from the line the fourth quarter, but they couldn’t connect on their final shot as Eastern came back to tie the game at 57-57 and force the overtime.

The Lady Vikings, 1-9 and 0-6 in the league, travels to Ohio Valley Christian next Thursday.
