"I was glad we improved upon the amount of points we allowed this time," Flyers coach Kevin Sheridan said. "Our goal was to hold them to 50 points or less. We had our starters out and they hit a shot right at the end just to get it to 50."

The Flyers had four players in double figures on offense and the defense generated 18 steals.

Matt Frazer scored 17 points, grabbed four rebounds, and had three assists while Bill Dressel also scored 17 points and had five rebounds.

John "Bub" Waginger added 11 points, eight rebounds, three steals, and two assists while Eric Waginger got 10 points and three steals.

"We played real well and shot the ball well," Sheridan said. "We had pretty good balance again.

"I was a little leery about going to South Gallia, but our guys were focused. They learned from the Raceland game not to go into a game mentally unprepared. They don’t want to let that happen again."

Justin Cook scored 12 points and Kyle Mooney 10 for South Gallia.

Dressel had eight points and Frazer five the first quarter as St. Joe jumped out to a 20-12 lead.

Dressel came back to score nine the second quarter while Bub Waginger and Frazer added four each as the lead climbed to 39-24 at the break.

"Matt did a good job around the basket and Bill shot the ball well," said Sheridan.

Frazer had eight points with Bub and Eric Waginger four each the third quarter as the lead grew.

Rusty Yaniko came off the bench to score five points and Andy Stack four as the Flyers continued to add to their lead.

St. Joe hosts 12th-ranked Green at 8 p.m. Saturday at the Ironton Middle School.
