Sharp pitched a three-hitter and struck out 17 without a walk in going the distance while Scott drove in both runs as the Lady Vikings remained unbeaten in the Southern Ohio Conference.

"Sharp and Scott were the two leaders. Sharp kept the ball down and didn’t walk a batter, and the defense was good behind her," Vikings coach Jeff "Odie" Estep said.

"We hit the ball well, but we hit it right at them. Scott came through when we needed it, though."

East took a 1-0 lead in the fourth, but the Vikings tied the game in the sixth.

With one out, Sharp singled and Scott followed with a triple.

The same duo produced the winning run, too.

Sharp led off the eighth with a triple off the top of the railing and Scott came right behind her with a line single to left.

"East is a much-improved team. Wilkshire pitched a good ball game. We were fortunate to get a couple of big hits together," said Estep.

Symmes Valley is 5-4 overall and 4-0 in the SOC. The Lady Vikings play at Portsmouth East Wednesday in a league game.
