Margaret Ross
Oct. 14, 1917-Aug. 7, 2001
SOUTH POINT – Margaret V. Ross, 83, of South Point died Tuesday at St. Mary’s Hospital in Huntington, W.Va.
The Lawrence County native was born Oct. 14, 1917, the daughter of the late Clarence and Georgia Hall Mayo.
She was a retired salad girl in the hotel industry and was a member of the New Life Victory Church.
She also was preceded in death by one son, Arnold Ross; one daughter, Maxine Kerr; five brothers, John Mayo, Charles Mayo, Laurel Mayo, Garland Mayo and George Mayo; and one sister, Georgianna Anderson.
Funeral will be noon Saturday at Schneider-Slack Funeral Home. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Gardens.Visitation will be 11 to noon Saturday at the funeral home.
Commey Horsley
Nov. 10, 1909-Aug. 8, 2001
GREENUP, Ky. – Commey Horsley, 91, of Greenup died Wednesday at Woodland Care Center in McDermott, Ohio.
The Greenup County native was born Nov. 10, 1909, the son of the late George and Lottie Royster Horsley.
He was the husband of the late Lottie Davis Horsley.
He was a retired farmer and he attended Montgomery Baptist Church.
Funeral will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Wright’s Funeral Home, with Gary Vaughn officiating. Burial will be in Jamison Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Samuel Crider
Aug. 30, 1914-Aug. 8, 2001
CATLETTSBURG, Ky. – Samuel "Mack" Crider, 86, of Catlettsburg died Wednesday.
The Boyd County native was born Aug. 30, 1914, the son of the late Samuel M. and Allifair P. Crider.
He was the husband of Leola P. Crider, who survives.
He was a retired safety supervisor for Ashland Oil, Inc.
He also was preceded in death by one son, Dr. Bob Crider.
Funeral will be 1 p.m. Friday at Kilgore and Collier Funeral Home in Catlettsburg, with the Rev. Paul Badgett officiating. Burial will be in Catlettsburg Cemetery. Visitation will be 10 a.m. to noon Friday at the funeral home.
William Myers
TEXAS CITY, Texas – William Joseph "Bill" Myers, 52, of Texas City, formerly of Coal Grove, died Monday.
He was the husband of Rhonda Lee Frazer Myers, who survives.
Arrangements are pending at O’Keefe-Baker Funeral Home.
