Charles Southworth

Charles I. Southworth, 85, of Ironton died Friday at River Valley Health System after an extended illness.
The Prichard, W.Va., native was born Aug. 17, 1915, the son of the late James Clifford and Lou Hoffman Southworth.
He was the husband of the late Eloise Carey Southworth.
Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Monday at Highland Memorial Gardens in South Point, with the Revs. Dennis Strawn and Steve Harvey officiating.
Visitation will be 9:30-10:30 a.m. Monday at Tracy Brammer Funeral Home.
Arnold Stephens
April 28, 1929-Sept. 14, 2000
WHEELERSBURG – Arnold Eugene Stephens, 71, of Wheelersburg died Thursday at Southern Ohio Medical Center in Portsmouth.
The Grayson, Ky., native was born April 28, 1929, the son of the late James Stephens and Virginia Allen Stephens.
He was the husband of Erma Reed Stephens, who survives.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Monday at Harrison-Pyles Funeral Home, with pastor Clarence Barker officiating.
Burial will be in Memorial Burial Park.
Visitation will be one hour before the service Monday at the funeral home.
Glen Skaggs
Oct. 7, 1920-Sept. 14, 2000
DELAWARE – Glen C. Skaggs, 79, of Delaware, formerly of Russell, Ky., died Thursday in Delaware.
The Oldtown, Ky., native was born Oct. 7, 1920, the son of the late John Wesley and Sally Carpenter Skaggs.
He was the husband of Helen Friley Skaggs, who survives.
Funeral was 3 p.m. Saturday at Carman Funeral Home in Flatwoods, with the Rev. Howard O. Rev. Howard O. Reynolds officiating.
Burial was in Palmer Cemetery.
Mattie Firestine
Jan. 30, 1928-Sept. 14, 2000
RUSSELL, Ky. – Mattie C. Firestine, 72, of Russell, formerly of Versailles, died Thursday at her home after an extended illness.
The Harrodsburg native was born Jan. 30, 1928, the daughter of the late John and Mattie Moore Curd.
She was the wife of Frank Firestine, who survives.
Funeral will be 1 p.m. Monday at Grace United Methodist Church in Raceland, with the Revs. Timothy Jessen and Van Firestine officiating.
Burial will be in Bellefonte Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. today at Carman Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to Community Presbyterian Church or Grace United Methodist Church.
Gertrude Adamkoski
GLOVERSVILLE, N.Y. – Gertrude L. Adamkoski, 83, of Gloversville died Friday at the Amsterdam Memorial Hospital in Amsterdam.
She was the daughter of the late Frank and Bertha Grand Destocki.
She was the wife of the late Walter Adamkoski.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Monday at Broadalbin Baptist Church in Broadalbin.
Burial will be in Perth Cemetery in Perth.
Jeffords Funeral Home in Broadalbin is in charge of arrangements.
Hansel Staton
Oct. 18, 1916-Sept. 16, 2000
MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – Hansel Staton, 83, of Myrtle Beach, formerly of Ironton, died today at Grand Strand Regional Hospital after an extended illness.
He was the husband of the late Patsey Jo Bowman Staton.
Arrangements are pending at Tracy Brammer Funeral Home.
Karl Smith
Aug. 25, 1928-Sept. 15, 2000
LUCASVILLE – Karl Richard Smith, 72, of Lucasville died Friday at the VA Hospital in Chillicothe.
The Wheelersburg native was born Aug. 25, 1928, the son of the late William J. and Mae Wright Smith.
He was the husband of Rebecca Conn Smith, who survives.
Funeral will be 2:30 p.m. Monday at Harrison-Pyles Funeral Home, with Danny Hess officiating.
Burial will be in Memorial Burial Park.
Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. today and 1:30-2:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Harold Blakeman
May 28, 1940-Sept. 13, 2000
CINCINNATI – Harold E. Blakeman Jr., 60, of Cincinnati, formerly of Ironton, died Wednesday at his home.
The Ironton native was born May 28, 1940, the son of the late Harold E. and Lyda Isabelle McCoy Blakeman Jr.
Funeral will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Phillips Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jimmy Hughes officiating.
Burial will be in Junior Furnace Cemetery in Franklin Furnace.
Visitation will be after 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
