SHERIDAN – No one was injured in a fire that broke out Monday at Lawrence Village Apartments.
Perry Township Volunteer Fire Department responded to the fire about 4 p.m., which started in a single apartment in the back row of the housing complex.
Several other departments were called out initially but the fire was contained quickly, officials said.
Firefighters thought the tenant, an elderly woman, was trapped in the apartment but she was outside at the time, department spokesman Lt. Robert Land said.
The apartment suffered heat damage. Flames were contained to one room, Land said.
The cause of the fire was still under investigation Monday afternoon.
The name of the tenant was unavailable.
