CANTON – Delbert Ferguson ran for three touchdowns and Terrence Graves ran for two more as Youngstown Ursuline beat Newark Licking Valley 42-21 Friday in a Division IV state semifinal game.

CANTON – Delbert Ferguson ran for three touchdowns and Terrence Graves ran for two more as Youngstown Ursuline beat Newark Licking Valley 42-21 Friday in a Division IV state semifinal game.

Ferguson, who is a freshman, had 162 yard rushing on 22 carries including touchdown runs of 17, 3 and one yard. Graves, a sophomore, ran for 121 yards on 25 carries with touchdown runs of 20 and 8 yards.

Quarterback Josh Swogger complete 7-of-13 for 126 yards for the Fighting Irish.

Ursuline shut the Panthers out in the second half leading 28-21 at halftime. The Panthers (13-1) were held to 19 yards on 20 carries.

Licking Valley quarterback Josh Vanover completed 13-of-27 passes for 155 yards and two touchdowns to Wade Kirk, including a 20-yarder to make it 21-14. Jared Nethers set up the touchdown with a 60-yard kickoff return.

Youngstown Ursuline (13-1) will play Coldwater (12-2) Friday in the state championship game.
