The Redwomen got those big shots from Mandy McDonie and Miranda Edwards as they edged the Ironton Lady Fighting Tigers 52-46 Monday.

Rock Hill (4-1) raced to a 21-12 first quarter lead behind 8 points by McDonie only to have Ironton rally to tie the game after three quarters 40-40.

Ironton was up 46-43, but Jordan Edwards hit a 3-pointer to tie the game. McDonie was fouled and made two free throws for a 48-46 lead. Ironton missed a shot and Miranda Edwards was fouled and sank two shots for a four-point lead.

Ashley Harris made a layup with five seconds left to set the final score.

"Miranda and Mandy’s free throws were huge. They both came though for us. And Jordan Edwards hit a huge three for us the fourth quarter," Redwomen coach Amy Hughes said.

The Redwomen were just 13-of-40 from the field but 19-of-24 at the line.

Jordan Edwards had 22 points to lead Rock Hill. McDonie scored 12 points and grabbed 15 rebounds.

Ironton fell to 1-2.
