It’s almost that time again. The 2001 Lawrence County Fair begins next weekend, July 7, at the fairgrounds in Rome Township.

"We’re moving, getting closer and closer," said Doug Clark of the county fair board.

Crews are finishing the final work and preparing for the arrival of 4-H/FFA animals, campers, carnival rides and more.

The fair officially begins Saturday at 8 a.m. with horse show registration, followed at 9 a.m. by the 4-H Fair and PAS Horse Show. The Open Horse Show begins at 2 p.m.
