Mike Rush, the plant manager at Muth Lumber, said area businesses have brought lunch to the employees for the last two days. During lunch yesterday, Rush said, employees were told the plant will remain open and will be built back better than it was before Sunday morning’s fire destroyed a building at the site.

As of yesterday, all of Muth’s employees had returned to work, Rush said. He said the facility was up and running within 48 hours of the fire with the help of volunteers who pitched in to reopen the plant.

So far, the cause of the fire has not been determined. Investigators from the city’s fire department, the state Fire Marshal’s office and the lumber company’s insurance agency are looking into the cause.
