HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Jimmy Kinder and Bill Jenkins found third in the first.

Both Chesapeake Panther wrestlers placed third in the first tournament of the year at the St. Albans’ Red Dragon Invitational last weekend.

Kinder, a senior wrestling in the 160-pound class, and Jenkins, a sophomore in the 103 division, both posted 8-2 records.

As a team, Chesapeake beat St. Albans 42-36, Riverside 48-21, and George Washington 54-24. The Panthers finished 3-7 in the tournament as they lost to Huntington 67-6, Herbert Hoover 48-36, Independence 46-30, Hedgesville 71-12, Greenbrier West 45-24, and Sheldon Clark 50-30.

Huntington won the event with a 10-0 record. The Highlanders were followed by Hedgesville at 9-1, Pt. Pleasant 8-2, Sheldon Clark 7-3, Independence 6-4, Herbert Hoover 5-5, Chesapeake 3-7, Riverside and George Washingotn 1-9.
