"We played pretty well," said Hughes after her Rock Hill Redwomen rolled past the Ironton Lady Fighting Tigers 78-27 Thursday.

Jordan Edwards had a game-high 23 points to go along with six steals to lead the Redwomen, now 7-1.

Miranda Edwards added 13 points and five assists. Courtney Doughman got 12 points and two blocked shots.

Maria Bamer had 12 points, six rebounds, and four steals. Julie Mootz had three steals, Rachel Hartwig nine points, six rebounds, four steals, and two blocked shots.

Candace Ferguson scored 11 points to lead Ironton (1-5).

Jordan Edwards pumped in 10 points the first quarter as Rock Hill took a 17-8 lead. Rock Hill then outscored Ironton 28-4 the second quarter to take an insurmountable 45-12 halftime lead.

Ironton trailed 56-25 after three quarters despite seven points by Miranda Edwards in the third quarter.

But Jordan Edwards and Bamer scored seven points each the fourth quarter and Ironton managed just two points.

The Redwomen travel to Gallipolis Saturday for a 6 p.m. start. Ironton plays in the Spring Valley Tournament beginning Jan. 26.
