COAL GROVE – New councilmen in this village took office last night at the council’s organizational meeting.

William Bryant, Larry McDaniel, Kenneth Pyles and Randall Wise took their oath of office last night before settling in for business.

Council will have a work session at 6 p.m. next Thursday in order to make committee assignments and update new councilmen Bryant and Pyles on the village’s financial situation.

During the meeting, councilmen also elected Wise as mayor pro-tem and elected to keep Mark McCown as the village’s solicitor. The council also elected to keep meetings scheduled for the first and third Thursday of the month as the meeting date. Council will hold its meetings at 7 p.m.
