CHESAPEAKE – The team was short-handed, but some individuals were strong-armed.
Injuries, youth, and lack of numbers have hurt the Chesapeake wrestling team, but that didn’t stop Jimmy Kinder and Jeff Price from doing well.
In a triangular match Tuesday, Chesapeake’s Jimmy Kinder won both his matches in the 160-pound class and Price split his matches at 189 pounds.
Kinder got a pin again Johnson Central (Ky.) and then got a forfeit against Huntington High (W.Va.).
Price fell 13-8 against Johnson Central but pinned Maynard of Huntington in his other match.
"Price wrestled pretty good. He could have won his first match," Panthers coach Phil Davis said. "Kinder only got to wrestle once, but he did well. He’s been pretty consistent."
Scott McDonald (145) and Kermit Adkins (171) won by forfeits against Johnson Central.
