Megan Tackett has another reason to celebrate this season.
First, Tackett signed a letter-of-intent to play for the University of Rio Grande. Early in the season she scored 1,000 career points, and late in the year she set a new school record for 3-pointers.
Now the Green Lady Bobcats 5-foot-6 senior guard can add first team All-Ohio honors to her list of accomplishments.
Tackett was named Wednesday to the Associated Press Division IV first team All-Ohio squad. She averaged 24 points, 4.4 assists, and 6.8 steals a game her senior season while earning Southeast District co-Player of the Year honors.
Tackett was joined on the first team by South Webster’s junior guard Brooke Hughes who shared the district Player of the Year honors.
Hughes is the sister of Rock Hill Redwomen head coach Amy Hughes who won District Player of the Year laurels her senior year at Wheelersburg.
Brooke Hughes averaged 19.4 points a game as South Webster reached the district finals and was ranked seventh in the final AP poll.
