An elderly Ironton woman escaped injury Tuesday night when she accidentally hit a vacant building with her car.
Ironton Police Department patrolman Mark Wilson said 80 year old Nancy Dillon, of State Route 93 was driving on Center street shortly before 10 p.m. when she drove her car up on the sidewalk and hit a building in the 300 block.
The building was not damaged;
Dillon’s car sustained minor damage.
Dillon told Wilson she doesn’t often drive at night, and was nervous about it, but she needed to go to the store. Wilson said she apparently became disoriented, and this caused the accident.
Wilson said Dillon was not cited in connection with the incident, and did not require medical attention. By Teresa Moore>
