Ida Brammer

Jan. 20, 1904-May 8, 2002 Ida Sarah Brammer, 98, of Ironton died Wednesday at her home, after an extended illness. The Burlington native was born Jan. 20, 1904, the daughter of the late Henry and Josephine Hanshaw Duty.

She was the wife of the late Howard Brammer.

She was a retired clerk with Henthorn Cleaners of Ironton and a member of Central Christian Church of Ironton.

She also was preceded in death by her first husband, Homer Vance; two sons, infant Merle Eugene Vance and Donald Vance; one grandson, Robert Simmons; three brothers; and three sisters.

Survivors, include one daughter and son-in-law, Leila and Fred E. Simmons of Ironton; five grandchildren, Donald Simmons and wife, Karen of Ironton, Lana Savary and husband, David of Wheelersburg, Ida Louise Maddy and husband, Jeff of Chillicothe, Janice Brammer and husband, Dave of Florida, and Rita Sanders of Mississippi; six great grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral will be 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Tracy Brammer Funeral Home, with the Rev. Alan Tison officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
