Aug. 22, 1932-May 11, 2002 – KITTS HILL -- Gary Richard Menshouse, 69, of Kitts Hill died Saturday at King's Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Ky. The Ashland native was born Aug. 22, 1932, the son of Iris Castle Wallace of Ashland and the late Alfred Menshouse. He was the husband of Janice Miller Menshouse, who survives.

He was retired from C&O Railroad and a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Pollard Baptist Church.

Survivors, in addition to his mother and wife, include a son and a daughter-in-law, Wesley J. and Carrie L. Menshouse of Kitts Hill; a daughter and son-in-law, Teresa J. and Curt Elliott of Kitts Hill; a half brother, Alfred Menshouse Jr. of Ashland; a half sister, Janie White of Ocala, Fla.; four grandchildren, Marlena D. Dillon, Joseph R. Pinkerman, Wesley Taylor Menshouse and Morgan Ryan Menshouse; and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Marshall Steen Funeral Home in Ashland, with pastor Tom Swartzwelder officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park in Ashland, with military graveside rites by American Legion Post 93. Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
