Nov. 16, 1931-May 18, 2002COAL GROVE -- Norman "Pete" Hanshaw, 70, of Coal Grove died Saturday at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital in Russell, Ky.

The Ironton native was born Nov. 16, 1931, the son of the late Albert W. and Leone N. Peterson Hanshaw.

He attended Coal Grove schools and was formerly employed with Consolidated Cab Company of Ironton. He also was a former custodian at the Paul Porter Park in Coal Grove and was employed at Tri-State Industries in Coal Grove. He was a Baptist.

He is survived by a sister and a brother-in-law, Alberta and Albert Wise of Coal Grove.

He also was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Hanshaw; and a half sister, Florence Bowman.

Graveside service will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Woodland Cemetery, with Rodney Harmon officiating. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Phillips Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to the Village of Coal Grove for the upkeep of Paul Porter Park.
