May 25, 1922-May 23, 2002 PEDRO -- Evelyn Jordan Jenkins, 79, of Pedro died Thursday at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital in Russell, Ky.

The Carter County, Ky., native was born May 25, 1922, the daughter of the late John and Polly Ann Staggs Jordan. She was the wife of the late Vint Jenkins. She was a housewife and a member of Pleasant Valley Freewill Baptist Church.

She also was preceded in death by a daughter, Margaret Lucille Jenkins; a grandson, James Adam Jenkins; five sisters; and three brothers.

Survivors include five daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and Gordon Bailey, Delpha and Danny Bloomfield, Judy and David Ratcliff and

Nancy Hall and Ron Ridgeway, all of Ironton, and Hazel and Jack Donley of Kinasaw, Ga.; six sons and daughters-in-law, Charles and Edith Jenkins, Alonzo and Goldie Jenkins, John and Mary Jenkins and George and Rosetta Jenkins, all of Pedro, Clifford and Linda Jenkins of Ironton and June Dale and Glinda Jenkins of Canton, Ga.; 65 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Pleasant Valley Freewill Baptist Church, with the Rev. Larry Joseph officiating. Burial will be in Hecla Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. today at Tracy Brammer Funeral Home; and 1-2 p.m. Saturday at the church.
