A South Point man will spend the next seven years behind bars for the rape of one underaged girl and for the unlawful sexual contact with another.
Randall Allen, 33, of 315 High Street, pleaded guilty to those charges Friday, according to Lawrence County Prosecutor J.B. Collier Jr.
Lawrence County Common Please Judge Richard Walton sentenced Allen to seven years for the rape charge and four years for the sexual misconduct charge. Those sentences will run concurrently.
Allen was accused of having sexual intercourse with an underaged girl at a restaurant near his home during the summer of 2001.
He is also accused of having sexual contact with another underaged girl at an area motel during the summer of 2001.
The Lawrence County Sheriff’s office began investigating the incidents after receiving information from Lawrence County Child Services.
Also, a Columbus man will serve eight years in prison for the break-in at a home in Ironton in April of this year.
Tico A. Woods, 21, was found guilty Monday in a jury trial in Lawrence County Common Pleas Court.
Judge Richard Walton also fined him $10,000 and gave him credit for time already served toward his prison sentence.
According to Assistant Lawrence County Prosecutor Robert Anderson, Woods previously pleaded guilty to resisting arrest and falsifying documents. He was given one-month and six-month sentences respectively on those charges. They will be served in the county jail. Teresa Moore/The Ironton Tribune
