A five-run second inning propelled the Ironton Little League All-Star team to an 8-3 win over South Point in the championship game of the District 11 tournament Thursday.

With the win, Ironton will advance to the state tournament, which will be held July 24-31 in Hamilton. The team, comprised of 11 and 12 year olds, is scheduled to play Thursday evening.

Players on the team will be raising funds this weekend to help offset travel expenses such as lodging and meals. Players will be collecting money on both Saturday and Sunday at Bartram's, Bob Linn Sporting Goods and Tipton's. They will also be selling raffle tickets this weekend.
