Lawrence County Common Pleas Judge Richard Walton Wednesday sentenced Charles Kinney, 62, of 1608 A Private Drive 54, to three years in prison for one count of perjury, three years each on two counts of perjury and two counts of bribery, and 18 months each for two counts of insurance fraud. Kinney was accused of enlisting the help of a friend to rent a truck. He then took the truck to his residence and staged an accident, and subsequently sued the insurance company over the fake mishap.

The scheme took place between February 28, 2001and May 13, 2002. Teresa Moore/The Ironton Tribune
