COAL GROVE --
The village of Coal Grove is recouping some of the money it spent making repairs after this spring's flooding.
The Ohio Emergency Management Agency has reimbursed the village for $15,938 in expenses incurred when a hillside along Jefferson Street slipped.
"We're very pleased and appreciative," village clerk Juanita Markel said. "This is a wonderful program and it's made a large improvement in that area."
The total cost of the repairs to the hillside was $21,250. Hall Excavating of Wheelersburg stabilized the hillside by packing it with stone-filled gabion baskets.
