WILLOW WOOD-- Students in Symmes Valley will have a longer summer vacation.

Because of the High School construction, the local school district has delayed the beginning of school until Tuesday, Sept. 3, said Thomas Ben, superintendent.

"We regret the delay in our school opening, but we are not able to get into the high school until renovation work is completed by the contractors and the state inspections are passed," he said.

"State inspectors have been here as recently as Wednesday and will return Friday for a final inspection. The building needs to be safe and prepared in a clean manner for our students, employees, and our community," he added. Amelia Pridemore/The Ironton Tribune
