Ironton girls top Trojans

In volleyball, that is.

With the unbeaten Ironton Fighting Tigers playing at Portsmouth Friday night in football, the girls volleyball teams hooked up Thursday nights with the Lady Fighting Tigers coming away with a three-set victory.

After dropping the first set 11-15, the Lady Tigers roared back the next two sets to win 15-2, 15-8.

Ashley McCloud led Ironton with 14 points, Andrea Rudmann scored 11, Rachel Wylie had 7 points, Candace Ferguson 5, Ashley Hannon 3, and Alexis Reedy one.

Ferguson and Hannon had 5 kills each, Rudmann 3 kills, and Wylie collected 48 assists.

The Junior Lady Tigers lost 6-15, 4-15 in the reserve match.

Tracy Mays scored 4 points, Katy Barnett and Ali Markins 2 each, and Kesha Collins and Brandi Norris one apiece.
