Blackshear, Thundering Herd roll past Buffalo

BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Ronald Blackshear scored a game-high 22 points to lead Marshall to a 69-63 victory over Buffalo on Wednesday night.
Marshall (7-3, 3-0 Mid-American) now leads the series against Buffalo 8-3. Wednesday's win snaps Buffalo's two-game losing streak against the Thundering Herd.
Monty Wright tallied 13 points for Marshall, while Ronny Dawn added and Marvin Black added 10 apiece.
Turner Battle led the Bulls (3-8, 0-2) with 13 points on 3-of-10 shooting, 6-of-9 from the free throw line.
Marshall had a 39-34 halftime lead, but the Bulls scored three straight lay-ups to open the second half and take a one-point lead. Marshall answered with a 13-5 run to put the game out of reach, five points coming from Blackshear. A 3-pointer by Ronny Dawn with 1:29 squashed Buffalo's late run.
Coming into the game, the Herd led the league in free throw percentage, but Marshall only shot 65.2 percent from the free throw line.
